Windsurfers have access to the trade winds only 5 meters into water, but also for non-surfers it is a great location, since the hotel area is sheltered from the wind. At low tide, a small reef right outside of the Velero Beach Resort forms shallow tidal pools that make it very safe for toddlers and children to go in the ocean. The vivid town of Cabarete offers a huge number of restaurants and bars and is very famous for being one of the most exciting and fun-filled destinations of the Dominican Republic. The over 5 km beachfront is a great place for numerous sports activities.

Velero Beach Resort is located in Cabarete, on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. Puerto Plata International Airport is about 30 minutes driving away. The capital city of Santo Domingo and its International Airport can be reached in about 4 hours. Supermarkets, bars and restaurants are only within a few minutes walking distance.
