Day 1: Welcome to Santo Domingo

Day 1: Welcome to Santo Domingo

Your personal driver will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign that has your name on it and will take you comfortably and safely to your hotel in the heart of Santo Domingo’s colonial zone.

The evening is at your free disposal. We recommend a visit to the Plaza de España, where you can choose between several excellent restaurants. Enjoy your dinner overlooking the house of Christopher Columbus’ son and soak up the cheerful and lively atmosphere.

Day 2: Santo Domingo

Day 2: Santo Domingo

The capital of the Dominican Republic combines modernity with an emerging economy and the historical center of the city, the “Zona Colonial” making this a very special place. During a private two-hour guided tour through the “Zona Colonial”, you will follow the footsteps of Columbus and will (among other things) see the oldest cathedral of the New World, castles, ruins and the residence of Columbus´s son, Don Diego. You will also visit a cigar manufacturer, where you can see the production of the popular Dominican cigars.

Afterwards we will inform you about your round trip during a tropical welcome drink in our office in the Zona Colonial.

After lunch you can independently explore the romantic alleys of the Zona Colonial or the “Malecon”, the sea promenade. Or you can take a taxi to get to know other places outside the old town of Santo Domingo. One of the options would be to visit the fascinating “Los Tres Ojos” (Three Eyes), which is part of a collapsed cave system.
The evening will be available for you to explore the vibrant nightlife of Santo Domingo.

Day 3: Drive across the island

Day 3: Drive across the island

Today you will pick up your rental car and start your round trip. Your first drive will take you once across the country to the high north; your destination is the idyllic fishing village of Punta Rucia. The drive already offers many highlights, for example you can have lunch in a beautiful panoramic restaurant, plan a lunch stop at a cacao plantation or visit one of the largest tobacco factories in the country to learn more about the process from harvesting to cigar rolling.

Days 4 & 5: Punta Rucia

Days 4 & 5: Punta Rucia

On the beautiful beach of Punta Rucia you will spend two relaxing days of vacation. In addition, one morning you will go by fishing boat to a small white sandbank with an area of only 200m2. However, the greatest natural spectacle takes place underwater, where the coral reefs attract a variety of colorful fish. Otherwise, enjoy the quiet atmosphere and gorgeous beaches in idyllic Punta Rucia.

Day 6: Explore Puerto Plata

Day 6: Explore Puerto Plata

After breakfast, you will continue to the kite and wind surf Mekka Cabarete.

On the way, you can visit the San Felipe Fortress in Puerto Plata. Christopher Columbus arrived in this area on his first voyage, documented on January 12, 1493. Later in the afternoon, you will arrive at your hotel.

Days 7 & 8: Cabarete

Days 7 & 8: Cabarete

These days are free for you to organize your stay in Cabarete according to your wishes. The possibilities are endless: whether you are looking forward to relaxing on the hotel beach, dancing the night away and mingling with the Dominicans, taking a cable car ride up Puerto Plata’s local mountain or fancy more sporting activities such as kayaking, SUP, surfing, mountain biking, river tubing, canyoning, yoga or hiking in the surrounding nature: Cabarete offers something for everyone!

Day 9: On to Cabrera

Day 9: On to Cabrera

Today’s program includes a drive along the north coast to Cabrera. The varied, lush landscape includes rivers, banana plantations, rice fields and an impressive coastline. Stop at your leisure at pristine beaches for a swim and typical Dominican lunch and refresh in crystal clear lagoons. Afterwards, head to the hotel, which boasts a fantastic view, where you can end the evening.

Day 11: On to Las Terrenas

Today the journey takes you further along the north coast and past small, authentic villages to the beautiful peninsula of Samaná. The drive along the Boulevard del Atlantico already awaits you with a spectacular view over the tropical coastline. Arriving in the charming beach town of Las Terrenas, you can end the day with a refreshing cocktail on the beautiful beach in front of your accommodation.

Day 12-14: Las Terrenas

Day 12-14: Las Terrenas
